BPH- BENIGN PROSTATIC HIPERPLASIA
The prostate gland grows with age. Due to its location, this growth can cause urinary symptoms: weak stream, interrupted stream, "straining" (dificulty starting to pee), increased urinary frequency. Around 1/3 of men over 50 have symptoms attributed to BPH. The diagnosis is clinical but can, and should, be confirmed by exams: flow chart, PSA, IPSS, ureteroscopy/cystoscopy.
